What is the legal stance on CBD for fitness within sport? 

The current sports legislation permits athletes to use CBD in and around competing. In 2017, the world Anti-doping agency (WADA) removed CBD from its list of banned substances (S8). However, THC stayed firmly on the same list (S8) due to its common recreational usage and hallucinogenic properties. WADA takes a firm stance on the use of CBD fitness products being at the athlete’s own risk. For example, should a product be used that the athlete believes in purely CBD but it contains THC, fault would be found with the athlete themselves. This means that incorrect usage of CBD products can lead to an athlete getting barred from competing.
